No you are not eligible for GATE exam in 2013,because only final year/complete Engineering course students are eligible.

GATE entrance exam is held once in a year,this is conducted by IIT's to intake qualified students for Post graduation course in Engineering,Architecture and Statistical course.

Well,sorry to say you are not eligible for GATE 2k13.Because you are in the 3rd B.Tech.Pre-final year students are not eligible for GATE exam.

GATE(Graduate aptitude test in engineering) is conducted once n year for providing the higher courses.

This exam is conducted associatively by all 7 Indian Institute of technology and Indian Institute of science.

Required qualification for GATE exam:

• You have to complete your graduation with 50% of marks in any recognized university.
• Final year students are eligible for GATE exam.
• Pre-final students are not eligible for GATE exam.
• Gate score is valid up to 2 years.
• There is no age limit.
• You have to attempt an exam many number of times.

So after completion of 3rd year,you are applicable for GATE exam.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all-India examination administered and conducted in eight zones such that One Indian Institute of Science(IISc),Bangalore and the Seven IITs(Bombay,Kharagpur,Kanpur,Guahati,Roorkee,Madra s,Delhi).

*The most important news in GATE-2012 is that Pre-final year student ca not appear in GATE 2012 exam.

According to the Eligibility of the GATE:

No, you are certainly not !! Only final year graduates or graduation completed students are eligible for GATE .

In 2014, while you are doing your final year graduation then you will be eligible for GATE .

GATE Eligibility :

You should be a Bachelor degree holder in Engineering OR Technology OR Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and even if you are in the final year can also write GATE.

You should be a Master degree holder in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent and even if you are in the final year of such programmes.

Question paper pattern for GATE :

Q.1 to Q.25: Will carry one mark each (sub-total 25 marks). 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Q.26 to Q.55: Will carry two marks each (sub-total 60 marks) 2/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Q.48 through Q.51 (2 pairs) will be common data questions. Each question will carry two marks 2/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Question pairs (Q.52, Q.53) and (Q.54, Q.55) will be linked answer questions.
The answer to the second question of the last two pairs will depend on the answer to the first question of the pair.

If the first question in the linked pair is wrongly answered or is un-attempted, then the answer to the second question in the pair will not be evaluated. Each question will carry two marks
There will be negative marks only for wrong answer to the first question of the linked answer question pair i.e. for Q.52 and Q.54, 2/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. There is no negative marking for Q.53 and Q.55.

Q.56 to Q.60 : From General Aptitude (GA) will carry one mark each (sub-total 5 marks). 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

No ,you won't be eligible for GATE in 2013.only engineering pass-outs and those who are in the final year of their graduation are allowed to appear for the exam.

You can give the exam in 2014 and your GATE score will be valid for 2 years only.And there is no limit to the number of attempts.

GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordination Board .

Through GATE examination only candidate will be provide postgraduate programmes with MHRD and some other Government scholarships/assistantships in engineering colleges/institutes.

As per this year notification you may not be eligible for Appearing in Graduate aptitude test in engineering (GATE)....

Because in 2012 notification it is clearly mentioned that students of Pre- Final year are not eligible..

Required eligibility criteria needed to appear in GATE-2013 is :-

• Students having any of following qualification are eligible for GATE - 2013 :-

As per the new rules and regulations organised by IIT Delhi, you are not eligible for GATE exam in 2013,because only final year/complete Engineering course students are eligible.

GATE entrance exam is held once in a year, which would be conducted by IIT's to intake qualified students for Post graduation course in Engineering,Architecture and Statistical course.

The Exam score which you have obtained would be valid only for 2 years, after that it would expire which means that you have to again appear in the exam.
