    Am I eligible for CDS exam while pursuing B.tech 5th semester? If yes, Which option should I mark in the application form of CDS 1? Am I wrong if selected first option'' appearing in final year examinations of degree''?

    sir, i m Anish kumar, btech 5th sem student as on 24 nov 2011. I want to ask you whether:
    1). I m eligible for cds 1 2012 (february). 2). If yes, which option should i tick in application form out of the four given options.
    3). I have selected the first option(appearing in final year examination of degree with physics and maths). kindly tell me (if i m wrong) will i be considered a fraud....?
    please do reply.....i m quite afraid.....dont know what to do

    Hi

    No,You are not eligible for CDS examination.

    CDS:Combined Defense Service examination.UPSC will hold the CDS examination twice a year.

    CDSE examination will conatin the follwong services.

    IMA
    OTA
    Navy Academy
    Airforce Academy.

    Educational Qualifications:

    For IMA and OTA,Air force academy and Navel academy you must complete your Bachelor's degree from any recognized university.

    Age qualifications:

    For IMA unmarried male and female candidates are eligible.And your age should in between 21-24 years.

    For OTA unmarried male and female candidates are eligible.And your age should in between 19-24 years.

    For Navel Academy unmarried male and female candidates are eligible.And your age should in between 21-25 years.

    For Air force Academy unmarried male and female candidates are eligible.And your age should in between 21-24 years.

    You must be citizen for India.
    You must be physically fit as per rules.

    So with out graduation you are not eligible for CDSE.

    Eligibility Criterion For CDS

    The Combined Defense Services Exam or CDS is conducted by the UPSC every year in the months of February and September

    A candidate appearing for the CDS Entrance Exam needs to fulfill the following criterion :-

    1) The candidate must have completed his/her graduation from a recognized University or should be in the final year of graduation

    2) The candidate should be within the following age limit for joining any of the respective Academies :-
    For Naval Academy : 19-22 years
    For Air Force Academy : 19-23 years
    For Indian Military Academy : 19-24 years
    For Officer's Training Academy : 19-25 years


    Your application will stand rejected as you are nowhere close to the completion of your graduation,only when you reach your 7th or 8th semester, you will be eligible to appear for the CDS Exam

    If you are afraid that your age might exceed the prescribed age limit then you may also try to get into the armed forces by Technical Entry Scheme or University Entry Scheme

    sir, i am persuing engeneering in IT branch. i am 5th semester student ,can i apply for CDSE exam during my 7th sem. how can i apply for it.
    scope for the girls in army information technology department.
